The Caja de Ahorros y Monte de Piedad de Zaragoza, Aragón y Rioja, with the commercial name of Ibercaja, , is a social, benefical credit institution founded by the Real Sociedad Económica Aragonesa de Amigos del País, and approved by Royal Order of 28th January 1873; It started its activities on 28th May 1876, and is recorded in the Special Register of Popular Savings Banks with number 51, folio 31, by Royal Order of 13th December 1930, and in the Company Register of Zaragoza in Volume 1.194, folio 23, page number Z-4.862, entry 1.

The Caja de Ahorros y Monte de Piedad de Zaragoza, Aragón y Rioja, , has its head offices in Zaragoza, at plaza de Don Basilio Paraíso, número 2.

The Caja de Ahorros y Monte de Piedad de Zaragoza, Aragón y Rioja is intended to promote, custody and administer savings, in order to contribute to the socioeconomic development of its areas of action that have generated it , making it fruitful under conditions of maximum security for those depositing and for the Institution through correct investment, management and administration of the financial resources entrusted to it, the results being applied to providing reserves and creating and making works of social interest, particularly in the fields of teaching, social assistance services, research, culture, public health and other strategic actions to encourage and nurture the socioeconomic development of its territorial area of action.
